Lamont Waltman Marvin Jr. Known for his distinctive voice and premature white hair, Marvin initially appeared in supporting roles, mostly villains, soldiers, and other hardboiled characters. Considered a minor genre release at the time, it later became a cult favourite, hailed as a paradigm of nihilistic violence. He spent a year in recovery before.
After serving in World War II, he briefly worked as a plumber’s assistant before gaining Off-Broadway roles.
Lee Marvin was born in New York City. He played memorable roles in the films The Dirty Dozen, Point Blank and The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance and he starred in the TV series M Squad.
